School District of Mishicot is Hiring a Child Care Director Near Mishicot, WI

JOB GOALS:

The Daycare Director is responsible for overseeing the operations and management of the daycare facility within the school district, catering to children aged 4 years and up. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to ensure the provision of high-quality childcare services in a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. This role involves collaborating with teachers, parents, staff, and children to ensure a smooth transition between school and childcare.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in childcare management, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Background check clearance in accordance with state and district requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide effective leadership to daycare staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practices in childcare management.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
  • Program Development and Implementation:
  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children.
  • Ensure that daily schedules and routines are structured to meet the needs of children while allowing for flexibility and individualization.
  • Coordinate special events, field trips, and guest speakers to enrich the daycare experience and engage children in diverse learning opportunities.

Health and Safety:

  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by enforcing health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections, and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Develop and implement emergency procedures, including evacuation plans and first aid protocols, to ensure the well-being of children and staff.
  • Oversee the administration of medications and the management of allergies and medical conditions in accordance with established protocols.
  • Parent and Community Engagement:
  • Foster positive relationships with parents/guardians through communication, regular updates, and opportunities for involvement in daycare activities.
  • Organize parent orientations, workshops, and family events to promote collaboration and support parents in understanding and contributing to their child's development.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, agencies, and resources to enhance the daycare program and provide additional support to children and families as needed.

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage daycare finances, including budget development, expenditure tracking, and fee collection, ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to enrollment, attendance, medical information, and staff qualifications, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare reports, evaluations, and other documentation for school district administration, funding agencies, and regulatory bodies as needed.
